Almonds are among the worst nuts for kidney patients — very high in phosphorus (~480 mg/100g) and potassium (~705 mg/100g). For stage 3-5 and dialysis, avoid regular almond snacking.
Almonds concentrate phosphorus and potassium — a small handful carries a significant mineral load that a renal budget can't absorb.
Almond milk is a lighter option (phosphorus is lower), but almond butter and whole almonds are concentrated.
Bottom line: avoid regular almond snacking in advanced CKD and dialysis; if eaten in early CKD, a few nuts strictly counted.
