7,490 Medicare-certified dialysis facilities, ranked by CMS quality data — star ratings, patient survival, infection ratios, Kt/V achievement, and catheter use. Plus the first county-level map of where dialysis access simply doesn't exist.
Methodology: every figure on this page is derived directly from the CMS Dialysis Facility Compare "Listing by Facility" dataset (data.cms.gov, identifier 23ew-n7w9, June 2026 update). County coverage uses the U.S. Census Bureau county list. "Not available" means CMS did not report the measure for that facility.
Only 1,816 of 3,235 U.S. counties have a Medicare-certified dialysis center. Roughly 44% of American counties have none — patients there travel, sometimes for hours, for a treatment needed three times a week. The county-level details are on each state's quality page.
